About C17 Council (C17)
The C17 Council is composed of the institutionally appointed heads of the sixteen pediatric hematology, oncology, and stem cell transplant programs across Canada, serving as the authoritative national voice for children and adolescents with cancer and serious blood disorders.
C17 represents 16 academic programs across 17 centres, enabling coordinated national research, guideline development, and clinical collaboration in pediatric hematology/oncology.
C17 Council & C17 Program Administrators
The C17 Council and C17 Program Administrators are uniquely qualified to represent the pediatric oncology and hematology communities in Canada and to address issues of national importance. This unique position stems from several important characteristics of the C17:
- Represent all the departments that deliver care to every child in Canada suffering from cancer or a serious blood disorder
- Represent all of the pediatric hematologists and oncologists in Canada and all of the academic centres with programs in pediatric hematology and oncology
- Established working relationships with the major institutions in pediatric oncology and hematology
- Developed a close working relationship with Children’s Oncology Group in the U.S. and have strong connections to other international organizations
